I’m very sorry for this terribly late update. I know you guys love the horoscopes, and I’m embarrassed I haven’t updated you on what’s going on with me. It’s been a crazy few years.
I’ve had an autoimmune kidney disease (fsgs) since I was 7, and starting in the summer of 2016 my health began to rapidly deteriorate. Aka, my kidneys began to fail. I spent a week in the hospital in the fall of 2016 with a hypertensive crisis, got on the transplant list, and spent the next year trying to work full time and live with about 8% kidney function. I’ll spare you the specifics of life with kidney failure, but let’s just say it wasn’t fun!
In the midst of all of this, my dog died, my dad got cancer, my grandmother died, and I’ve been trying to navigate a top to bottom house remodel. Did I mention I was in a brand new marriage, and we had been hoping to start a family when all this began? Ya, it was a crummy year.
In August 2017, I got a kidney transplant, thanks to my amazing, selfless brother who gave me one of his kidneys. The surgery went perfectly, and I feel amazing, and my brother is back to his regular self as well. And my Dad is cancer-free too by the way, woo hoo! Crazy story…he discovered the cancer when he got tested to be my donor! Life works in mysterious ways.
Anyways, you’d think that once I got a new kidney, I’d have tons of energy for horoscopes, but I’ve really needed the time to focus on my recovery and decompress after the year that just wouldn’t stop throwing me curveballs. I kept thinking about writing this update, but I honestly wasn’t sure what to say about the future of the site because I didn’t know what I wanted to do.
Unfortunately, I still don’t fully know what the future holds, but I’ve been really touched by your comments and emails, and I know I owe you guys an explanation for being so devoted to the site. I had plans to re-do the site- I’ve already commissioned and completed the art for it, but I haven’t built it. I don’t know when or if I will, but I definitely think about it a lot, and might still do it. It would be easy to just do one sign a month, but 12 signs a month is a lot of horoscopes, which amounts to a ton of man hours for me, which truthfully could be spent towards building my actual career in a more meaningful and successful way. So I’m trying to decide where to put my energy right now.
I’m sorry if that’s too ambiguous and/or disappointing to you. I wish I had more clarity myself. Maybe it’s that darn Neptune on my ascendant right now! Thank God Saturn is done with me for now.
If you go to my Facebook page, I posted some astrology aspects for 2018. They’re not full yearly horoscopes, but at least it’s something.
Thanks for your support, understanding, and kind messages!
